Welcome to Phoenix Guitar Lessons Hello, my name is Chris Nastri and I am a guitar teacher based in Scottsdale, AZ (Thomas/101). I currently have openings available for guitar lessons, beginner or advanced, child or adult. I studied in the ASU Jazz Dept and have a degree in education from ASU. I play lead guitar in the rock band Frequis. I have been teaching lessons and workshops for over 10 years. I specialize in actually showing people how to play guitar, in the style they want, and I try hard to put together a customized lesson path that will keep you interested, excited and challenged. I also specialize in teaching those who think they have absolutely no musical ability or inclination.

I enjoy teaching many styles: blues, classic rock, modern rock, alternative, heavy metal, punk, jazz, jamming, improvisation, composition, songwriting, acoustic, folk. I can customize a method based on your musical goals, whether you want to strum songs around the camp fire, learn to sing and play at the same time, write songs, shred, improvise, or learn about scales and theory. I meet many students who know a few scales, but are unsure how to use them over chord progressions. It is not so difficult, however, once you understand how it all works.

I have many resources which I enjoy sharing with my students, such as printed materials, books, play-along cds, and a huge collection of tablature. I teach lessons from my music studio in Scottsdale so my students all have access to record their music and listen to it on a CD. In addition, I have free jam sessions at my studio with a drummer and a bass player where students can come and play with other musicians in a low pressure, fun environment and try on the skills they learn.
